Our Administrative Support Team

Center Director: Constance Simms, RN, CBN

Connie is the director of Carolinas Weight Management. In addition to her duties as the center director, Connie also coordinates the bariatric surgery program. She was the first nurse in the region who is certified by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as a Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN). Connie has extensive experience in nursing administration and has a background in ICU, GI nursing and endoscopy. Connie is an affiliate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the North Carolina Medical Group Manager’s.

Office Manager: Ashley Hassey

Ashley is the office manager at Carolinas Weight Management. She manages the office staff and has many years of diverse managerial experience. Ashley serves on committees within Carolinas HealthCare System and coordinates health fairs and outreach for the center.

Managed Care and Support Services Coordinators: Felicia Sudderth and Lisa Green

Felicia is the managed health coordinator. She assists with insurance benefit verification and is responsible for surgical patient tracking. Felicia meets with all new surgical patients on their first visit to go over their specific insurance requirements and any other requirements or consults that the surgeon feels are necessary prior to surgery.

Lisa Green is the support services coordinator. She verifies insurance benefits and has extensive experience with claims and insurance submissions. Lisa coordinates the insurance verification and pre-certification process for all patients in the bariatric surgery program.

Front Office Staff:

Yolanda and Melissa are patient access representatives and work at the front desk. They check in and register patients and assist patients with appointment scheduling. They are the first friendly faces that you see as you enter the practice!

Jocelyn works at the front desk at patient check out and assists patients with scheduling appointments. She is also the medical secretary for the medical providers.

Robin works at the front desk at patient check out and assists patients with scheduling appointments. She is the coder for the practice as well as the patient and customer support representative.

Regan is our medical records clerk and is responsible for our medical records department.

Tasha is our live answer coordinator. She is the friendly, welcoming voice that most callers hear when they call the practice.
